Words For Invitation For Lohri

Dearborn, Michigan

Some time ago I posted on a Swiss weekly ACTION Pezzullo titled "That minaret on a Ford, which reported some interesting peculiarities of the new mosque in Dearborn, Michigan
( http://epaper.azione.ch/ee/azion/_main_ / 2009/07/06/027/azion-_main_-2009-07-06-027.pdf or http://bricioledamerica.blogspot.com/2009/10/il-minareto-di-via-ford.html ). The idea
me had provided a proposed new article in the Swiss constitution which, if accepted in popular vote, would have introduced the ban on building minarets in Switzerland. For those who do not know how things went: the constitutional amendment was accepted, in Switzerland not be able to build minarets, Muslims in Switzerland have to make do with the land (if I remember correctly) four existing minarets. Translated density: a 10'321 square kilometers each.

Today I get the same Dearborn, Michigan, another interesting news: a daughter of that city just outside Detroit and home to the Ford won the Miss USA contest. The nice young lady is Lebanese immigrant in the U.S. as a child and (apparently) of mixed Christian-Muslim family

Dearborn did feast. As for me, not a believer and I hate beauty contests, but I concur the festivities: America always manages to surprise me.
