221km ... the city of Camogli Randolario
Today I attended the Randolario a Randonee about 200km around Lake Como.
In previous editions, which were conducted in April, the course provided a complete tour of the Lake with passage Valsassina. This year, given the advance in February and due to a landslide area in Varenna, the path has changed.
Leaving Malgrate (LC), passage from the lakes of Hanno and Pusiano, Grass, Albany, Como, the entire shore of Lake Como and, at the top, we continued to Morbegno, Talamona ... Lecco and then we went back to the same road (with a climb of over 2km Camnago Time after 193km away).
the end, my Polar 221km marked with a vertical drop of just over 1300m.
Until the night before the weather does not bode good, we were resigned to take if rain nor snow ... but no great surprise this morning it was raining, the streets were dry and Como Talamona is also a weak sun came out.
The spirit of the Randonee is much more relaxed than that of the marathon, but even here there were groups in which travel at a good pace.
A 200km ride for more than eight consecutive hours you have time to think about many things ... not what you have and you would like to have, what you have and which too often is not appreciated enough, people who love you, the bike and all the beautiful emotions that living with her! And the tangle of thoughts that accompanied me throughout the week was a little unraveled!
308km With this we close the month of February with 2.020km routes in 2011.

Good performance by Fabrizio Casartelli, which closes 20 th overall and 9 th grade with time 3:04:45 confirming more and more leaders of the Planet Bike team, despite still being charged this week with the race to 5 days, is getting good performance.
Less prominent place in the final standings of Richard Zacchi but has worked hard to keep the captain in the lead so paying duty for the final closing 290 th overall, it also added a double perforation caused by a hole. Good

You again .. Presentation
You again, cold and insistent that you have decided this week to remind us that we are still in winter. In the spring there is still a month and we have to deal with the first March crazy.
Last Saturday it was an advance, an illusion.
All this affects on training and the desire to suffer the cold when it comes out once a week or two it becomes very difficult to thermoregulate well, the body suffers from these changes.
The workout today was made at the bottom to avoid slow then find me too sweaty with the cold air, as a cold current. Go
court in Brianza slow pace down the court to avoid too cold, waiting for a workout of the DST transition in order to provide continuity.
Continuity is essential to be able to do a job and productive workout without a constant load and at least you will not have those physiological adaptations to improve performance.
So failing that I will have a strong will to do indoor work, or is to be expected, it is useless massacre overload it once a week, then maybe risking bad weather to remain firm up to two weeks.

Gorges du Verdon
You pedal, and pedal well beyond the Alps!
More precisely, the route was held in Provence, a land of great cycling (remember some of the many Virenque), with its giant, the Ventoux, which unfortunately throws some 'shadow and obscures other corners of this beautiful beautiful county. The Provence is full of charm and history of fragrances: how not to mention the lavender, which dominates in the grassy plains, with its unique color, or the historic "Route Napoleon", the road traveled to Napoleon on his return from exile 'Elba in the direction of Paris, initiating the memorable "one hundred days." And we want to forget the food?? The Provencal cuisine is a mix between the Mediterranean and Arab (invasions and achievements of the Arab peoples in this region led to the use of spices and strong flavors), the dishes are the tapenade, the bourride, ratatouille and sauce flower beds (the latter is highly recommended before a romantic date, try ehehe ).
But back to us during the summer of 2010 I had the pleasure of riding in these places. Three days of cycling and relaxation, during which the two objectives to be accomplished were the Gorges du Verdon and the Mount Ventoux. Unfortunately, the second is skipped due to a small "food poisoning" that has put us ko for a day (watch out for cheeses too fresh .....), but the first itineriario has satisfied all right!
Da non sottovalutare il clima: in estate è molto caldo e c'è anche una good dose of humidity fortunately almost always a breeze blowing, but it is essential reintragare constantly lost fluids. By counterclockwise allows you to do some 'warming down the road is almost level along the Verdon, before starting to climb the walls of the gorge.
The route is definitely not recommended, both for the uniqueness of the surrounding landscape and for its "technical". Place
exist below the map and the tour made its altitude. then, of course, some photos!

antioxidant supplementation and resistance training: the pros and cons
last month on "European Journal of Sport Science" was published article by a research group of Prof. Hans Hoppeler at the University of Bern in Switzerland, whose pose risultai arguments for and against the supplementation (high dose) antioxidant. In summary, as we all now know, free radicals are considered responsible for cellular damage, aging, and even diseases such as cancer, while antioxidants are seen as a defense against these threats. As a result, antioxidants are the most common supplements used by athletes both amateur and professional. However, the extension of this practice has recently been questioned. Each training session produces a range of stimuli that result in substantially the synthesis of certain proteins that are then responsible for the repair of damage and adaptation to the stimulus. Become stronger, faster, and increase our strength, building (synthesizer) on the proteins involved.
Free radicals are thought to be one of the stimuli that triggers the production of these proteins. So supplementation with antioxidants would reduce the signal stimulus, and make minor effects of training. Evidence has been gathered and research carried out both for and against integration of antioxidants, so it becomes difficult to give advice. However, it seems that the dose is the most important factor of the matter. Studies have shown that adverse effects are generally those in which we used a relatively high dose of antioxidants. At present then the topic needs further research and investigation before reaching a complete understanding, however, based on current knowledge, you can draw the following broad guidelines:
* in caso di una carenza (evento molto raro), questa supplemetazione should be under medical supervision
conclusion, this area of \u200b\u200bsports nutrition is constantly evolving and probably learn a lot more in years to come. Know the right dosage, the type of antioxidants, and the correct timing of intake in relation to the effects of training and the different environmental conditions. Supplementation of antioxidants should go towards the right balance between maintaining a state of good health and obtain benefits for optimal performance.

test path Camogli GF 2011 Saturday
today along with some of my teammates I tried the path of Gf Camogli who will carry out 27 Sunday. The
pecorso I know him well (the same 2010). Unfortunately, the GF last year was marred by a bad day, meteorologically speaking. Today, ripedalando on those same streets, in a fantastic day (on top of the second climb, Leivi, there were 19 th) I was hoping in my heart that next Sunday the sun may accompany us, so that all who participate can be aware of how beautiful Liguria .... :-)
We left Genoa and by the almost complete path (excluding the rise to Portofino we have deliberately left out due to late hour) came out of 148 km and 1860 meters of roads dislivello.Le interested in Gf are in good conditions, except perhaps for the first down, after Col Caprile, which presenta alcune irregolarità nell'asfalto, gia presenti lo scorso anno.Per il resto nessun grosso problema riscontrato.
Benvenuto chi verrà...... ;-)

Monster Energy Bmx Bike
a spring day.
Dopo la tanta pianura visto il clima invitante è ora della prima salita lunga, con Fabrizio e Simone ci dirigiamo verso Como, il lago oggi è veramente fantastico sembra meglio usual, we go up to Argegno at a slow pace, it goes to 30 km / h, reached a turning point in Argegno coffee break, really creamy and taste, it goes back on the bike and still you go to slow the climb of the day, Bisbino known ascent with no traffic in the sun, regular slope. We climb to the middle
Simone and I remain together while the average Fabrizio corresponds to a 125 cc moped does not arrive until we arrive at the top around the twelfth km, the snow fell here during the week is the contour of the road.
I climb up pretty well but at the end of the climb the tank is empty and the ascent of Camnago Volta turns on the red light on the dashboard that says "the end". At the end
94 km and 4 hours in the saddle.
Now I hope to find time and desire to ride in the week, 2000 km from the beginning of the year.
forgot the Bisbino the ascent of Fabrizio, who won the trophy in charge of the race of the climber.
